Colorado: Day 2

Here are some pics from our second day in Colorado (Sunday, October 2nd). Noah had come down sick with a stomach bug the night before and was up off and on all night along with Shannon taking care of him. We stayed around the house on Sunday so everyone could rest and to make sure everyone else was ok. Joel and I went out and did some hiking on the property surrounding the house and had fun exploring. Joel asked if we were the first people to ever see things we discovered like the huge boulders. :)

October 2nd was Hannah's 4th birthday! We had celebrated at home with a party before our trip, but still enjoyed celebrating again while on vacation. Shannon made some birthday brownies that were delicious!

Joel enjoyed this stuffed bear he found at the house.

I took this photo of Pike's Peak from the deck at our house. We really liked having a deck to sit on to relax with a nice view.

We all took a walk down the road later in the day and enjoyed the outdoors and the Aspens turning colors. This is Lydia being carried by Shannon in a Moby Wrap.

Noah was feeling better and ready to play. I think the thing he hated most about getting sick was having to eat crackers for his breakfast. He loves food and really wanted Shannon's homemade Cinnamon bread!

Colorado: Day 1 / Arrival

We arrived at our house in Colorado on Saturday October 1st in the afternoon. We quickly walked down the hill from the house to do some exploring. Here are a few shots from the first day.

In this last shot you can see a herd of elk in the field just out from the house and the city of Divide in the distance.

ABCs

We got out some books to teach Hannah and Noah the ABCs and counting. We have a long way to go. Hannah just asked if 14 comes after apple.

Colorado

We just got back today from a wonderful week long vacation in Colorado. We rented a house overlooking Pike's Peak and took this photo with the mountain in the background. We'll post more photos soon!

Joel: "I can run like a cheetah!"

Noah: "No, you run like an old lady!"

Confusion and Delay

It's been a while since our last post. Life with 4 kids has been busy to say the least! Joel (now 6 yrs old) told me the other day while we played Thomas the Train that my train was causing "confusion and delay." Shannon pretty much says the same about me with the blog and the photos! But, we're trying again and here is a recent pic of Lydia to start it off!
